A Month of Posts= A Happy Girl

Ok so I have so many posts I have wanted to do this past month but with the new baby it leaves me little time with both hands free to type. :) So here's a few.
1st one- this little blog here is a year old now. Yay
Happy 1st Birthday Savvy Chic Home!
First of all I just want to say thank you to all of you bloggers out there. I get great ideas from you and I love reading your blogs. You inspire me every day. I hope I am helping and inspiring some of you out there too.

Second "post"- Yes I did decorate for Valentines Day. Oh how I love to decorate for this holday- so girly. And with 4 girls in this house it is even better!
I used the little pillow I made last year on my mantle.
Found 3 of these berry wreaths at Goodwill. What a score!

I made these "conversation heart" Valentine's Blocks. Be Mine, True Love, and Kiss Me.

Third "post"- I got some beautiful new lamps for Valentine's/ having a baby. Gotta love me some TJ Maxx. I love the silver finish, the beautiful shape and the drum shades. And oh so better than the scrawny ones we had before. It cleans up the room nicely.

Does anyone else buy presents for themselves? Haha I guess I am kinda weird like that. My husband HATES shopping and I love it. I always find the best price for it so I just buy it for myself. :) He is usually assigned a Mr. fix it job as well (or sometimes all together), like helping hang curtains, making our washer/dryer stand, you get the point. So it is a win win. Now for some art above the bed and throw pillows. Ah the list never ends does it? See my DIY Easy Roman Shade tutorial here.

And lastly I have found some great second hand deals lately. Yes I even dumpster dove once. hahaha
But the one I have to share is that I got a Cricut! I got a screamin deal from a friend, and now I need me some cartridges! Yeah I am excited to make cute cards, some vinyl, and lots of home crafts. Link up your Cricut craft! I would love to see your ideas and also hear what your favorite cartridges are and any other Cricut advice.

So all in all this has been a great month. I have a cutie new baby who is smiling away now, some great blogging inspiration, a cute Valentines house, some gorgeous new lamps and a fun new mommy toy. Does life get any better? Well maybe- but this is great for me.

Cute Candy Cards for Valentine's

Aren't these the cutest cards you have ever seen? Candy in a card, it absolutely can't get any better. My darling Mother in law made these. I believe these stamps are from Stampin' Up.

I've never seen this before. My daughter and I are in love with it!
Pull the tab, and get your candy out!
My friend over at nannygoat, made this cute card this year. Just insert the lollipop (or whatever) through the card where her hand is. Love it!

Valentine's Day Mania!

Well I have 3 new Valentine's Day projects to show you. Yes 3! wahoo- I'm feeling super creative because of this new blog. Thanks for visiting everyone. Anyways this Valentine's Wreath is a Goodwill transformation. I think I bought it for a dollar last year. I repainted a few of the hearts and the love banner, and added more ribbon and a bow.

These little containers can be used for anything. Valentine love notes, a gift bag, candy, Visiting teaching treats or maybe even a few flowers. What else could they be used for? They are made by putting scrapbook paper and embellishments around used food containers. Another great way to reduce, reuse and recycle. I bet you have all the stuff you need at home already. Make sure to use strong tape or glue.
My little heart pillow. My hubby make me this awesome quilt for Valentine's Day (with the help of his Mom) the first year we were married. I love it! I have been wanting to make a cutie little pillow to go with it for a while.

I love the texture around the edges. You can snip the edges to help it out. It will get even better over time too. I used contrast stitching and squiggely sewing to give it those special details.

Can you tell I love ribbon? If you need steps or instructions let me know.

Scentsy Wrap- Updated!

Since this post is so popular I added a few more things.

Well let me tell you that I love my Scentsy warmer! I love the wonderful smells, I love the warm glow, and I love the way it looks. It is one of the focal points in my kitchen (I have it accented in white ceramics, and it is in the center of my island). So for each holiday I decorate it with some cute ribbon. Here is what it looks like for Valentine's Day. What an inexpensive way to decorate for each holiday. I have the DIY square white warmer.

Here it is for Halloween.
And Christmas except try to imagine a bigger red velvet ribbon with a cute snowflake ornament hanging on the ric rac. Can't believe Christmas was packed away in the attic and not Halloween, maybe because we have so much more Christmas stuff. Anyways, I am burning the sugar cookie scent, yummm. What is your favorite Scentsy scent?
Oh yeah and I got all this ribbon, from the clearance section at Hobby Lobby. Leftovers in a bag- got to love them!! If you like this, then you definitely need to check out my Valentine's Day Mania post.
